Coffee Shop, Convenience Store and Fresh Juice Bar

San Antonio-based Selrico Services, Inc., has been selected to provide a Coffee Shop, Convenience Store, and Fresh Juice Bar for students living in the Park West College Station Community, located at Texas A&M. The facility encompasses 15 buildings, 2.2 million square feet, and more than 3,000 beds. The Complex opened early August 2017.

Market 1876, named for the year Texas A&M was founded, will be a full-service convenience store offering freshly-made packaged foods, snacks, drinks and sundries to include jump drives, and basic school supplies, saving the students a trip to the coop or bookstore.

CoffeeShop-2Mug Down, named after the Texas A&M tradition where you kiss your date during yell practice and every time the Fightin’ Texas Aggies score points in a football game, is a coffee shop, proudly brewing Starbucks Coffees.  Mug Down will also carry a variety of pastries and tea options.

In addition to a site manager, Selrico will hire 15-20 students who will be cross trained to work in all of the locations.

College students aren’t eating enough fruits and vegetables — in fact, a new study shows students aren’t even eating one serving per day, far from the USDA Dietary Guideline’s recommended five to 13 daily servings.

1002577_TAMU_Housing-02The Deck, located next to the state-of-the-art fitness center and rooftop pool, is ready to help combat these numbers and will serve as the community juice bar, featuring made-to-order smoothies incorporating Greek yogurt, soy milk and an assortment of dry toppings as well as freshly-squeezed fruit and vegetable juices with a variety of health add-ins such as protein powders, honey and wheatgrass.

The public-private project is developing the 48-acre site west of the intersection of George Bush Dr. and Welborn Road across the street from Kyle Field. Park West will be home to 3,402 beds in facilities ranging from studio apartments to four-bedroom garden-style units which rent from $450-$1100 per month.

This isn’t your parent’s dorm; each room is fully-furnished with its own kitchen, a washer and dryer and includes all utilities. These luxury spaces include posh amenities, such as shaded rooftop cabanas, multiple BBQ grills and fire pits, jogging trails, games rooms, three resort sized swimming pools, three state-of-the-art fitness centers and for those who decide to study, private study rooms are available.

Selrico is working with Servitas, and its builder Weitz Company
to create the next level of modern living, student-detailed amenity space.
